Laurent Dear is in charge of the labour and social security law department.
He holds an LLM degree from the Catholic University of Louvain (1995).
After studying for a year in Leiden (the Netherlands), he was admitted to the Walloon Brabant bar in 1996. He quickly specialised in labour law and social security law and earned a degree in specialised studies in social law at the Free University of Brussels (2001).
The Brussels Bar Association conferred on him the title of specialist in social law in January 2007.
Laurent Dear was an assistant at the Faculty of Law of the Catholic University of Louvain (2006-2007) and at the Free University of Brussels (2005-2017) where he taught advanced labour law.
He served as president of the Young Bar Association of Walloon Brabant and member of the Bar Council. He is currently a member of the disciplinary board of the Brussels Court of Appeal.
He is a member of the editorial board of the journal "Chroniques de Droit Social" and of the board of directors of the Association des Juristes Praticiens du Droit Social (AJPDS - www.ajpds.be), of which he was also the chairman.
He is a regular speaker in symposiums and conferences. He is the author of numerous publications on labour law.
